I think they keep rocks and mud and shit from flying up into the engine.

you said smart peeps...
That doesn't apply to me to much
But leave them in. You'll probaly end up with dirt and dust in places you won't want it. If you really wanna vent the engine bay better, my guess would be just get a vented hood or something like that. I've also seen some track cars take dryer tubing, run the tubing from the holes in the front bumper and run them to someplace back near the motor. Usually 4th gens seem ok about air moving though the engine bay though.

leave them in unless it's a full race car - you will get water, snow, road debris, mud, all types of shit in your engine compartment.
Speaking of fender lines my right front got ripped today after i re-installed the front bumper after some work. I heard it rubbing on the tire during a quick road test, but i thought i'll fix when i get back to the garage. didnt happen that way, ripped off doing some damage to the right front corner turn signal harness. i will need to order harness & fender liner tomrrow at work(honda). i can rig the bulb in there for now. Shit happens Next time i go the track - i'll remove it Cold-Air Intake is located right there and will get a lot mor air flow that way. It would be really bad if it was rainging with that one off |
