Hot 93

Greetings All: I have a 93 Sable GS, 3.8, auto a/c, power everything. Lately its been getting quite warm and once actually hot. Radiator is full of 50/50 mix, overflow tank up to correct mark. On occasion I cannot hear the fan running when its hot (above normal) I dont know where the cooling fan sensor is located to change it but was wondering how to wire in a by-pass switch so I can also control the fan from inside without interupting its automatic feature. Can anyone here help me out?

Thanks

Re: Hot 93

i have the exact same car with more than likely the exact same problem i believe unless i am misunderstanding you that you need to replace your thermostat which is usually not too difficult to do if youve never done it. as for a bypass switch.... not usually a good idea to screw around with the wiring in these because if you ddin't know they had a major recall for the main wiring harness and they tend to get screwy when screwed with.

Re: Hot 93

Thanks for the info. I will change the thermostat and see what happens.
Think maybe I will leave the wiring alone too. I might add that the overheating problem didnt start until I replaced the accessory relay module (on top of radiator under shroud) thinking it was a problem for not starting, turns out I was wrong there but when I put the old one back in the cooling problem seemed to stop as well. Any ideas in that direction? Thanks
