#1 was hilarious, #6 was a stupid line, #8 was agreeable, and obviously #10 just shows how ridiculously stupid the writers of this article were. It's an RX-7, one of the greatest japanese sports cars around, that would probably blow a charger out of the water, just not the one in the movie. The other lines I just chalk up to dramatic license.

"I live my life a quarter mile at a time."
has to go down as the stupidest line in a movie ever!

and i cant stop laughing at how they said

"would it be the first 10 seconds or the second 10 seconds in that mazda that your free?" omg that is freaking hilarious

Well, they could have had a movie about musclecars instead, but no one would want to watch a movie with a bunch of rusted out old cars being towed or being hauled on a flatbed across the finish line.

Almost as bad and as stupid as saying that it takes 20 second for an RX-7 to complete a quarter mile. Grow up.

hey streetracer, I noticed in the post about ricers that was closed, you mentioned that "domestics would only get around 7 mpg in our iceberg sized engines"... well, I know I'm off topic, but I had to set the record straight somewhere. My car actually gets between 18-19 mpg in the city and 28-30 on the highway with my "iceberg sized engine." but I'm sure your gonna say that your maxima gets like 50 mpg or something right?

moderator, please don't close down all these posts, lol. I have to get a good laugh somewhere, and we are arguing all in good fun.

A bit of fun is fine, but it seems to go way beyond that. Please try and be civil to one another. As long as you keep it civil the threads don't need to be closed.

30 mpg? Either you drive like my 80 year-old grandma, or you have a diesel version of the LS1 that I have never heard of. I just can't fathom a V-8 engine, a pushrod 350 ci engine neverless, getting 30 mpg, not even downhill with a tailwind. But I'll take your word for it.

And my car gets about 20 mpg in city driving. It could be better, but my driving style doesn't suit getting good fuel economy.

well, obviously if I drove it like a maniac everywhere, my gas mileage would suffer. I can cruise at 75mph in 6th gear on the highway and only be turning 1600-1700 rpm. and thats with 3.42's. An overall average of 19 or 20 mpg is not an uncommon occurence for me.
