ok yesterday we finished putting together my brothers old cav (96 Z24) he blew the clutch so we took it all apart got the new one it and finally had time to get it all together again. So we started it in neutral with the clutch in... and we can keep it running but if u depress the clutch it turns off.. and when u try and shift into a gear it feels like something is blocking u from doing so. the shifter can not even go by the 1st and 2nd gears... and 3 4 5 and R do not allow it in... does anyone have any ideas here? thanks

Re: New clutch now we cant get it in gear! HELP!!
Not being able to get it into gear with the engine running is a sign that the clutch is not disengaging. Did you disconnect the slave cylinder during the clutch replacement? If so, correctly bleeding the hydraulic slave cylinder can be a real PITA! Just my opinion, though.

this might not even be close to the problem but check the shift cables, make sure they are where they should b
