Reverse Lights

I noticed that my reverse lights arent turning on when i shift into reverse. I went to my local auto parts store and bought new bulbs and still doesnt work, the old ones still looked goodd. Any suggestions ?

When i replaced mine when i first bought it the prongs in the sockets were pushed down so they couldnt reach the bulb. All i did was lift them up with a screw driver and it worked again.

Manual or automatic trans? Do you have a voltmeter?

Yes on the manual and no on the volt meter

Its the reverse switch on the tranny.
