Hi, Ive got a 99 tahoe that all of a sudden wont start. When I turn the key it just makes one click and thats all. I have two Optima batteries, and I had them checked out. Both are fully charged.
Im guessing that its the starter.. Any ideas on what to do ? |

Re: 99 Tahoe Starter Problem
Pull the starter out and test. That one click is the solonoid kicking the bendix out and the motor is not spinning.
If its the original, its probably time to replace it. Hope that helps.

Re: 99 Tahoe Starter Problem
Hey guys I have the same starter problem. Could you guys direct me to an engine layout pic. or some thing like it I have replaced startes before but I am not sure where it is on my 99 Tahoe and it is stuck in a store parking lot now. I would love if you could help me find it so I could tap on it and at least get it back home to work on it.
thanks a lot |

Re: 99 Tahoe Starter Problem
Check starter relay under the hood. My 1997 almost fooled me. I put voltmeter on the small solenoid terminal before I pulled starter.
