92 Tracker sever over-heating problems. Newbie, HELP!

(Cars are not my specialty)

Okay so last winter I had water in my radiator because I wasn't aware of the fact that this could damage my engine,

My radiator developed a leak and I continually refilled it with water in the winter months,

The leak became severe as it was overheating heavily in snowy conditions, so I got some Bar's Stop-Leak, which brought the leak back down to a slow drip, but it still leaked, and seemingly the problem had just started all over again, as the leak continued to get worse when I had to continually refill with water.

My father and I decided that the leak was coming from the water pump, and it was, so we replaced that, along with the thermostat, and the problem had ceased to exist for several months, until now, august of summer, where the problem has been getting worse for a month.

It over heats when there is full coolant, it's not the fan that's working just fine, and when it overheats, it appears to have sprung a new leak somewhere, which really let's all the juice out when it gets hot (as it does everytime), and my only way to alleviate the problem is to turn my heater on full blast coming through the engine.

Why would a tracker overheat with a working fan and full coolant? Could it be a radiator problem? i'm just hoping I didn't damage that.

If you ran plain water through the winter you may have popped a freeze plug on the side of the engine. They look like round indentations in the side of the block, usually about the size of a 50 cent piece. If one of these is leaking pop it the rest of the way out and press in a new one. This can be an awkward item to get to and fix, you may want to find a mechanically inclined friend to help.

Check your oil. If it is brown, milk shake looking or seems to have brown or white bubbles in it then a gasket or the block has a crack in it and is leaking water into the oil. Gaskets are tedious but not too difficult. A cracked block is a new engine.

Inspect your entire cooling system, radiator, hoses, heater core, engine block, recovery tank and try to find the leak. If you are using properly mixed coolent you'll see its color somewhere. Ice can do damage in the strangest places. Good luck and let us know what you find.

k so! i had a crack in my block,

my cousins a mechanic and he figured this out, sent it to him, and he sealed that shit up.

so it's full of coolant, i'm driving home, and when i'm stuck in traffic the motherfucker starts overheating again!!!

I got home and it was hot as shit, coolant shot god damn everywhere when i opened it up!

it didn't have a leak! and the block is sealed up! what do I do.

or, where do I start.

The Bars Leaks probably stuck your thermostat.
Pull the thermostat out, flush your system and run for a few days without your thermostat, then flush again before you replace it. Run the heater a few times, while you do this, and when you flush, too. Also pull the hoses from the heater core (the 2 water hoses coming out from the firewall) and flush it. Careful not to soak your engine and stuff any more.
Also:
Did you change both upper and lower hoses when you changed the water pump? You should now, if you didn't then.

I gaurantee you blew a Head Gasket. Get a Compression tester I got mine for 10 bucks in the automotive department at WalMart. How did your cousin fix the block did he weld the crack or replace the block. If he replaced the block ask him if he milled the head and had it tested for warping prior to reinstalling it. Check your oil Milky or just oil? Check your coolant just coolant or is there oil in there?
