Re: *wip* Jeff Gordon 2004 Dupont Chevy

Even at this early stage, the wow factor is kicking in. As a user of Dupont paints, this car has always been a favourate of mine. I was wondering if you would ever make this and in the flames livery. Now I will just sit back and enjoy the progress and if anyone could do justice to this model, its you.

Re: *wip* Jeff Gordon 2004 Dupont Chevy

looks great so far. don't forget the traction control though

Your NASCAR builds really get me jazzed to build one, I"ve only built one in the last 3 years, and that was a quicky build, waiting for those 06 Monte Carlo's to come out to build David Gillilands HYPE Kentucky Busch Series upset winning car

Jeez, that dashboard looks bloody amazing. It's almost as if it's real, incredible !

One question:
Where o where did you get the orange (corrugated ?) hose? I cannot image that you cut and glued several pieces of straw together. Yet I've never seen these hoses in on-line stores, although I'm always looking for them.

@ robrex
the gauges are stock from the kit, the decals are from the JWTBM sheet

@ DerXL
the duct hoses i make myself, i use electronic solder, wrap it around something to get the size you want. then dip it in a can of enamel paint a few times and you end up with hoses that are nice and flexible

Cool details. But, what do you wrap the solder around?

Thats a decal? Wow, its done flawlessly. Even as it is now this car is looking sharp. Anyone wanting a custom paint job would be more then happy with these flames. Cant wait to see it with all the sponsors.

Hey James, lovely job so far.

Can I ask - In what order did you apply the flo red decals?? I've been meaning to ask John, but haven't got around to it.
