Completed: Revell 1/24 Shelby Cobra 427

Hi all,

Finally got the time to finish this car. I have decided to experiment with a few methods to photograph the model to do it justice. A lot of times I finish a model and the pictures to show it off looked like crap. So here are the pics of the finished car plus description of how the pictures are taken.

The first pic is taken under strong sunlight with a white cardboard background, the results are not so good so I have only selected my favourite one:

The next two are from my favourite "shine spot", that is, next to the window in my workroom. This spot usually produces good shiny pics to show off my hardwork in polishing...

The next two are taken from my "studio". It is a low cost budget studio created by 3 desklamps and a background cardboard. The following two are taken with white background:

The next two are taken with a black background:

The car itself is not quite 100% complete. I have not attached the rear license plate and the rear view mirror. Those will be added later.

If anyone is interested to check out the "rocky" progress in building this car, here is the progress thread in the Hot Rod section:

Thanks for looking! Comments are more than welcome!

Oh yeah...The rear tire is kinda loose. I forgot to move it back in a little before I take those pics...It can be fixed. Thanks for pointing it out.

This really turned out great. The finish is excellent and I like how you tried different lighting and background options. The very clean dash really goes well with the rest of this quality build. So, whats next?

Great job Winston. I chickened out on attaching those little triangualr windows

Detail on the dash is great.

Aprt from that rear wheel, you might want to check the lenses on the front headlights - it looks like you have the engraving rotated somewhat. Maybe it is still fixable?

I definitely warmed to the BRG

I still haven't decided. May be I will build a Japanese passenger car next. I am not in the mood to do a race car yet (After the disaster with the Lancia Stratos)...Let me check out my closet...

Hmm...You're right, I didn't notice that. Let me see if I can fix it...

I knew in the beginning BRG was going to look great on this car because of the Cobra's British origin...

Thanks for the kind words everyone!
