I just got a decorative shift knob to put on my sentra. Anyone know offhand how to remove the factory knob? I started to try and unscrew it but it was on VERY tight if it's screwed on and so I didn't try alot of force because I didn't want to break it if it doesn't unscrew. Thanks guyz.

If your shift knob is anything like the one on the 00-01 se's then youre gunna have a hell of a time getting it off. On mine there is a plastic ball screwed on and glued to the shaft, then the leather knob is glued to it. I had to take a pipe wrench to it, but that only broke the knob loose from the plastic ball. I then had to cut the leather knob off. I never got the plastic part off of the shaft it was on there so tight, but I was replacing the whole shifter, so it was alright. Good luck getting that bitch off of there
