i just put a b16a sir2 motor into my honda 97 ex 4 door and im not getting the full 150 hp to the wheels it seems to be bogging every time the check engine light comes on . im reading a code #9 Its a obd 1
PR3 ecu . my manual says its the CYP sensor could this be the problem And if it is how can i go about fixing it

Yeah that can do it. The CYP is a cylinder sensor. Its in the distributor. When it goes bad the coil won't know when to charge and fire the plug to the cylinders. You could try replacing the sensor in the dizzy but I find it rather hard to take them apart cuz the blots always strip out. But definately its that sensor in the dizzy, either replace the sensor or the whole distributor itself. Good luck with the swap!

ok so u think that can be the problem i think so too the guys who did the swap told me oh dont worry about it it will still run but yeah it ll run but noot bad ass like its sopposed to right OK but lets say this sensor is doing its job and that would mean that my cylinder is out of position or what i not too sure .
