Re: hi all, newbie here need HELP

In my opinion the best way to go with building an F430 is to buy the revell or fujumi kit (have a look on ebay, or in your local hobby store) the revell kit is around 10-15 GBP and the fujumi is double that. I have been modeling for a few years now, and still have not got the skills to build an entire kit from nothing, and if you did it would cost a lot of money and take a very long time. With regards to the tools needed you should look at this link ( http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=332835 ). It lists the tools. these tools are fairly cheap, you probably would be best off starting with just the basic tools (see link for details.)

Click and read the three links in my sig.
As for scrap building a complete car, not recommended unless you have had previous experience with other plastic models. A good way to learn how to scrap build is making various mods on your car.
Here's another link that will show you some various points in/of scrap building.GTmike400's Mods Tutorial Page
And if money is an issue for you.. scrap building is probably the most expensive type of modeling.

BTW, welcome to AF

yes you can do that. I did it with a hororfull white GT1 (1/18) I only did another paintjob, but you can go ass far as you like. Only, use a good primer over the metal and be warry, You prabably need a strong product (tolueen) to remove the paint... but some parts (like the rearview mirrors) are in plastic and they melt in tolueen.. So use the right paintstripper for the right materials!

But, I like building a model more. Just look for a car you really like and go for it.
