Re: toggle switch for what?
I've got one in my '89 in pretty much the same place and it illuminates red when on...
From what I understand, alot of folks do this b/c the sensor for the second (electric) fan is not close enough to the 'heat' to kick on before the engine gets to an overly-hot for comfort temp. I've also read that some people rout this override to an ignition-switched terminal in the fuse box so that it comes on and off with a turn of the key. If yours goes somewhere else, I dunno... good luck! |

Quote:
Flip it and see if anything blows up or comes on or goes off. Check out the wires and see where they end up. Some are used for fan switches and aftermarket alarms or even running or fog lights. And even kill switches. Good luck MT

Re: toggle switch for what?
When I get some slack time I will see what it does but I betcha you guys are right that it,s for cooling fan.
Took my first family trip today with this Jeep. Just real sweet that,s all I can say. Cruised at around 75 where everybody else seemed to be running at. a/c was frosty cold, temp hung constantly at 210 Degs, Oil pressure held at 50 psi at highway speed with 5w30 oil. Interior noise wasn,t as bad as i,ve been told. Just a great vehicle these xj,s. hot dog' I got me a super cool vehicle.
