govener... as in speed limiter?

Yes, get a re-programmed PCM, it will also give you performance increases.

look at ZZP, WBS, PFYC, Milzy, all of those places carry PCM's.

the hypertech power programmer III is another option, they have one for 01-05 3800 cars, you can change/delete the speed limiter, plugs into OBD II port, pretty simple.

Re: 2005 impala 3.4

it's also completely worhtless for the amount that it costs.

a new PCM will cost you $100, compared to $400 for the hyper-crap "programmer"

If you want to spend $400 on a REAL programmer, get the DHP powertuner, you can change anything about how your engine runs, increase shift points, remove speed lmiter, adjust shift firmness, clear DTC's, A/F ratios... anything.

with the hypercrap, there is only so much you can do and adjust, the DHP powertuner can actually tune your vehicle, not just change some stuff around.
