Help Fuel Tank Leak O-ring problems

I am at the end here. I replaced the fuel pump on my 96 cherokee and have had constant problems with the twist ring/o-ring seal leaking. I have replaced the o-ring like 4 times. Is there a trick to this? My manual is no help and offers no tip on how to keep the o-ring in position while pounding the begeezes out of the metal ring with a hammer.

Happy Trails All

Re: Help Fuel Tank Leak O-ring problems

Download the 2000 XJ service manual in PDF form and check out Page 14-6 (Fuel system quick disconnects) and see if you problem is described there.
