98 Ranger any problems?

Hey
I am looking at a `98 Ranger flareside box. 3 L engine automatic 210,000 Km on the engine.plain jane truck. Good rubber and has body s ide mouldings, fairing which make it stand out . Has anyone had any real issuses with this year of truck. Owner says he has put some new parts on it but did not elaborate as he was at work at the time I seen the truck . Did say however that he just had some headlight issuses straightened out. Front bumper is rusted bad but the rest of it looks good. How well do the body and frame stand up now ,do they still rot away like before. also what are they worth. He wants 5800. neg
Thanks for the input Muff

Re: 98 Ranger any problems?

Just an impression, but $5800 for an 8 year old Ranger with 210km seems rather steep. In my area of the country, they usually seem to bring 2-3k. I've sold two in this age/mileage range.

Don't know about the 1998 model, but so far I'm not pleased with the 2004 3.0 engine. The 1995 4.0 I had previously was far better.

Ranger has always been a reliable truck, but that price is too high.
