It seems to be something loose because I sometimes hear it when I start the engine. I checked for loose parts without luck. I also took care of the catalitic converter. Please help. Thanks

Re: Front knocking noise passanger side
Thanks for your info. I will have a look to the motor mounts. However, what is the CV- joint?
Thanks, Charlienet |

Re: Front knocking noise passanger side
cv joint is the flexible shaft for the four-wheel-drive. it's what these things have for front axles. they have rubber boots on them, so check them for tearing, rips, etc. if no rips, you're good on those.
question on the kncok, is it hard, fast, or soft and slow. not that i can tell on here, but if it's fast check to make sure your fan shroud isn't hitting the fan. and please check it with the motor off, it's hard to play guitar after something like that.

Re: Front knocking noise passanger side
Finally! And you will know the truth and it will set you free. I want to thank you all and specially automotive forums. After years and dollars on the search for a hounting and crasy driving noise, I finally corrected it. And even better, I didn't spend a penny . It was a loose hood hinge (pasanger side). Believe it or not. Again thanks to you all. My full fledged jimmy doesn't sound like a junk car anymore. Does it show that I'm happy?
