Right side front axle shaft removal
I have a 95 Cherokee with a bad U joint on the right side of the front axle. I have removed the brakes and the pin and locknut on the hub, and the three bolts holding the hub on. I can't get the hub off so I can remove the shaft to make the repair. It won't budge. I did the left side with no problem. Am I missing somthing? Also How do I tell if I have a bad Hub? I am getting some humming noise, but I'm not sure where it's coming from. Would a real bad U joint cause all the noise or should I look for somthing else? The Jeep has 150,000 miles on it.
Thanks Paul |

You might need a puller.

Re: Right side front axle shaft removal
I just did the right and left side of my 96. In order to get the wheel bearing housing or hub off ya need a big hammer and alot of beer in stock. I beat on both sides for about an hour or a six pack per side. One warning when your ready to put everything together don't over torque the 3 bolts that hold them on. I snapped one off!!
