Please help--transmission leak--any ideas

I just took my dodge 96 caravan to the shop to have the tranny serviced. I had it serviced because it was due and it was leaking fluid. I got the van back and still had a leak. I am called the shop and they are going to get me in monday but I just didnt want to get screwed over. The leak is coming directly behind the pan. There is a little square box. Attached behind the pan. The oil is leaking out of this area. You can see what looks like a gasket or piece of rubber or silicon that has slipped out. The rubber is visibly poking out. I hope I gave a decent desciption. Any help would be appreciated, like cause and or cost I am looking at so I have a little idea. Thanks for all your help.

Do you mean near the front of the pan? If its the front it sounds like the solenoid pack.

I am not sure. Thanks for the reply. If I am facing the van, it goes tranny pan and then connected behind it is a small box where the rubber is coming out. If it is the soleniod pack what am I looking at to repair it. thanks

Re: Please help--transmission leak--any ideas

I just got back from the shop The mechanic said I needed a reseal.
Cost 1000, said it was leaking in the rear differential. Does this seem accurate? Looks like one leak? Cant I just put on some seal a gasket? Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Re: Please help--transmission leak--any ideas

I have a 96 T&C and have the very same problem. I cannot believe it will cost 1000 to fix. What did the mechanic say needs to be done? It appears to me that all that needs to be done is to remove the cover and replace the gasket. Of course, on my T&C it is not very easy to get to the bolts to take the cover off. I, like you, am curious as to what advice others may give.
