new heads

I've searched and cannot find a place that builds heads to Honda motor. I'm thinking of using an old block but with new heads, pistons etc. Any help is most appreciated.

what's that company that makes honda blocks, damn i forgot, they make heads also. i'm useing a kms engineering valvetrain,

yeah dart, thanks i couldn't remember, but they are REALLY expensive.

In my opinion, it'd be cheaper to buy the parts (valves, seals, springs, retainers, keepers), get a manual (either buy one or download a free one), get a spring compressor, and rebuild it yourself. As long as the block wasn't trashed, it shouldn't need any other work. If you want it ported and polished, you should send it out, but doing the rest will certainly cut the cost down. And it's really not that hard to do.

Now you're talking my language. This is something I was wanting to do over a period of time. It's cheaper than buying a new car, the body style is older so insurance & county taxes would be cheaper. Also, there something about building something with your own hands and being able to enjoy it that has a quality all its own.

My wife and I are looking for a home with a home with a garage so I can do this. I also want to build my own furniture and that'll give me the space needed for both. (hopefully)

I thought I'd ask a question about the Civic VX's vs starting a new thread...

Is it a hatchback that has the same interior options as the EX/Si but with a much taller gear on the manual with a weaker motor (96hp)?

Is the suspension any different than the EX/Si?

Exospeed has a nice head set up that I like...it's the H22 head package from Exospeed. $795 before taxes and shipping. So $1k would be about right and gives better power curves and more hp/tq than an original VTEC EX head.

In case you didn't know, you can't slap an H22 head onto a D-series block. You can slap another d-series head onto the d-series block, but a H22 head or a B-series heads are no goes on a d-series block. If you want an H22 or B-series head or motor, you'll just need to do a motor swap.
