I recently put a 3.1L 3100 Engine from a 1997 Lumina into a 1997 GRand AM GT. It starts kinda rough. WHen it is started it will not idle. when its at about 100 R's it sounds good but it then gets a strong gas smell. I had to take the fuel rail, and injectors out of the Grand AM motor and out them on the Lumina Engine. Is that Bad?? It almost seems like it has too much fuel running to it. Im also wondering if the plug wires are wrong bc i hooked them up the way they were on the grand am. can anyone give me info on which wires go on what plugs from left to right on the front and back?? Also any info PLease HELP ME Thanks Tom

Re: Runs HORRIBLE HELP!!!
The firing orders are the same, so as long as you did it right for the Grand Am, it would be the same on the Lumina motor. The engines appear to be identical, including the sensors (MAF, oxygen, etc..) so there must be a problem with the new engine if you have the firing order correct. Did you re-use old plugs, wires, etc.., or did you put new tune-up parts in when you did the swap? It's entirely possible that one or more injectors are bad, as they are a fairly common issue on these engines.
