I need to find out if an O2 sensor for an Olds 88 3.8L is wired the same as the O2 sensor for a'92 Olds supreme 3.4L

As they're very close together in year, and no real changes were made around that time, I'd say it's likely that they both carry the single wire O2 sensor.
Start with the basics...
1. Basic O2 sensor is single wired.
2. Heated O2 is 3 wire (2 for heater).
3. Wide band O2 sensor is 3 wired, with two of them in a shield which is connected to the third wire.
4. Wide band heated is 5 wired. 2 for heater and 2 for the sensor itself, plus the 5th wire which is the shield for the sensor wires.
Do you have one of each? Or are you wanting to swap one into the other?
If they have a different number of wires, you either can't or don't want to swap them. I numbered them above. You can't swap a 1 or 2 into a 3 or 4 application. You can't swap a 3 or 4 into a 1 or 2 application. You can't swap a non-heated into a heated application (it'll work, but you'll fail smog test and get crappier mileage). You can swap a heated into a non-heated application for the same type (O2 or wideband) but why would you spend the extra $ for a heater you can't use?
Hope that helps!
Thomas
