Relay swap???

Hey all, so im buying a 5.0 later today which supposidly has a shot fuel pump relay. Sometimes when the key is off if the battery is connected the pump will continue to run on and evenutally flood teh engine, it only does this once and a while. My dad said that in his jeep cherokee there is another relay for soemthign else that can be swapped with the fuel pump relay. I was just wondering if anyone knows of such a thing in the mustang.(its an 87).

Also, what are the chances that the fuel pump relay on my 86 3.8 would be the same as an 87 5.0??????
