fuel pressure regulator?

I have an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and I had a question about the adjustment, do I have to shut off my engine to adjust the fuel pressure or can I adjust it while the engine's on?? I was also wondering if anyone can give me some instructions on how to hook up a pocket logger.

Re: fuel pressure regulator?

Nope, you can adjust it while hte engine is on, just be careful not to make too drastic of adjustments. Start with very small partial turns to raise or lower...just like a manual boost controller. One turn can be a few psi. I mean technically, if you have a mechanical gauge and not an electronic sensor, you could just give the fuel pump power so it pressurizes the lines, and then adjust it without the car on...which is safer, but if you don't have a mechanical gauge that option is out of the question anyway.

Pocketlogger, I'd PM linebckr49, he's our resident datalogging guru. if you do a search for 'datalogging' I know he's written about it before.

first of all, were you the guy i purchased the 3/S front fender from? <random question>

ok, so you've got a pocket logger. do you have the data cable? here's a pic from their site

one end of the data cable plugs into the diagnostic port on your car, located next to your left calf below the dash. the other end of the cable has a serial connector. you need a hotsync cable for you PDA with a serial connector so you can link to the data cable. once that is done, run your pocket logger software. voila.

if you have more technical questions about software, hardware, etc, i'm here to help.

Re: fuel pressure regulator?

I think your suppost to set it to 42 psi with the vacuum line off, which will make it 38ish connected.
