How much would it cost me to replace the exhaust?

From Honda? I assume it's cheaper to do it with aftermarket, but keep in mind I wouldn't be able to swap it myself, I'd probably have to have a place do it. What's the cheapest way to go?

Not necessarily looking for performance (tho wouldn't mind it).. my stock exhaust has a hole in it, in the pipe before the muffler.

Just go to a muffler shop. They'll cut out the bad piece and weld a new one in for probably less than $50.

Re: How much would it cost me to replace the exhaust?

Got any names of shops? Good shops that is? I'm in CT, dunno if there are any major chains around here, never really noticed.

I take it if I wanted to replace the whole thing, that would be the cheapest way to do it, also? Everything between the cat and and muffler is nasty. The muffler was new 2 years ago after I got rear-ended, and I put on a DC header last year. Everything else is original, as far as I know, so it's about 11 years old.

There are tons of chains but usually local shops are cheaper and/or you can haggle with them. Go to a bunch of different places, as many as you can find, and get qutoes from all of them. You'd be suprised about how much one shop's prices vary from the next.

Re: How much would it cost me to replace the exhaust?

What about one of the cheapo catbacks on ebay? Obviously not as good as Greddy or whatnot, but probably better than stock and will give a bit of performance as well?

They are more or less straight pipes. Not legal, but if knowing that you actually have a "cat" or at least an attempt at one, makes you feel better, go for it.

Re: How much would it cost me to replace the exhaust?

Huh? I already have a cat. I'm talking about the exhausts that go from the cat, well, back. Just wondering if the cheapo ones on ebay are gonna be crappy workmanship/fit.

Re: How much would it cost me to replace the exhaust?

no theres been a lot of decent cat backs on ebay you can find for your car, let me find you an email of a guy on hondatech that had some nice cheap ones. if you want a deeper sound go with apexi n1 or greddy evo2 style. idk what your price range is but you can usually find them for a good deal somewhere. put up some links of ones youre lookin at so we know what youre talkin about and can help. youve got a dc header on there and its being choked by your current exhaust anyways cuz its probly all stock so you might as well kick in some money for a decent setup.

93delsol i think youre thinking of a catalytic converter, hes talkin about the whole cat back packages

Re: How much would it cost me to replace the exhaust?

well if your racing the car buy a greddy sp2, if not buy a cheapo, or the local muffler shop should be able to make you a cat-back for 100-200 depending on the size of the pipe u want and if you have ur own muffler.

Re: How much would it cost me to replace the exhaust?

Haha, yeah, it was late. I saw cat and didn't see the back. For a catback, well there's a local muffler shop here that makes custom exhausts really cheap and they last forever. I say try and find a deal like that where you live.

That's what I'm talking about. I don't really care if they don't give a lot of performance but I figure it will probably be lighter and a little more open than stock, and probably last longer than the nasty rotting pipes I have now.

That looks pretty decent. Their feedback isn't great but if that's the best deal, go for it.

Re: How much would it cost me to replace the exhaust?

Wow nevermind missed that the shipping is $99. Forget that.

Guess I need to go to Midas or something and have it cut and a new piece welded in.

thefooshmeister - Are you maybe talking about www.Kteller.com? If not, they seem to have some very reasonable prices.

it doesn't look that bad of a catback, but it is your decision.
