Exclamation Supercharger!

Anyone heard/used/seen the procharger supercharger? it claims 55% gains on a stock motor.. i was wondering if anyone heard anything good or bad aboht them.. im thinking of getting them once i can afford em.. (might be 3 years or so )...
www.procharger.com

i asked them to send me a magazine..and they did, but they dont explain ANYThinG. they tell me how a supercharger works...stuff i already know..

for 5K, they claim at least 65% increase on a LT1 with up to 85..(Where they say it will gain more but they cant claim it cuz its illegal..) yeah, i know the stocker probably wont be able to handle the boost, 12-16lbs.. but if i rebuilt a LSx motor + supercharger.. what do you guys think?

legit? fake?

the 5.5K supercharger comes with 'everything you need' including intercoolers...

Re: Supercharger!

If I were going to get a supercharger, I would pick a procharger. It features a self-lubricating system so you don't have to tamper with your oil pan.
On a stock LT1, you can't run more than 6psi without causing problems. So forge the internals, get an intercooler, and run higher octane.

Re: Supercharger!

On a stock LT1 you can go as high as 8 PSI but I recommend staying at around 6. Procharger is one of the best and I would highly recommend them, I would also have one if I could afford it.

Re: Supercharger!

Yeah, procharger is at the top of my list. Vortech and magnacharger (not to bash either of them) I just don't see as being as reliable or strong as an ATI Procharger. Plus, procharger is just a cool sounding name.

Re: Supercharger!

You can easily gain 50% in power by using a 'charger. I like the way they sound too, that's the whole idea, right? It's the gears in the unit that make the noise, the noise from my 6-71 comes from the big belt.
What tranny do you have? Auto or stick? When you add more power, other problems will show up somewhere.
These chargers are efficient just like a turbo charger. Keeping boost down to 5/6psi really doesn't require an intercooler (but it would help), even methanol injection would be a benefit. More air means mor fuel, you will probably need bigger injectors too.
LT1? You might check with MSD to see if they offer a boost timing controller (BTM) system. Believe me, if you mismanage the timing while under boost, you can grenade an engine before you can lift your foot off the gas.

Hope your plans work out.
