I have an 02 grand prix 40th anniversary. I was wondering if anyone would know how to remove the hood scoops or is it even possible? I painted them on the car awhile back and I am now going to paint them again. I just thought it would be easier If I could take them off. Thanks

Re: removing hood scoops?
It appears they unbolt from underneath with two bolts per scoop that run through the water deflector on the underside of the hood. It appears (in the GM computer illustration) you can remove them without disturbing the underhood insulator panel

Re: removing hood scoops?
ok. because I took off the water deflector and it just looks like the hood scoops stuck on with a water sealant of some type. To me it looks like if I cut the sealent I can just pry them off. I dont want to mess anything up so I dont think I will be prying them off.

Re: removing hood scoops?
The GM computer doesn't show anything between them and the hood(although I suspected they would have some sealant/adhesive).
