87 IROC mass air flow problem

I have an 87 IROC which won't run right unless carb spray is sprayed into the throttle bore.
ECM and MAF don't help.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Re: 87 IROC mass air flow problem

hmmm, ok, so it will start and run, but run like poo unless you spray carb cleaner, then it runs 'normal' until the cleaner is burned, then runs like poo again?

Are you able to check the fuel pressure?

No S.E.S. light?

Does the car run better when the MAF is disconnected?

Yeah, I think you should have it scanned and then maybe a tune up if its been a while and definetly check the spark and fuel pressure.

Re: 87 IROC mass air flow problem

SES is on with MAF sensor code. No problem with sensor or wiring. Harness was replaced. No more noxious smell but light stays on. Fuel pressure is fine.
