Hi Everyone. I've owned this Kia for a year - no problems what-so-ever. The past week it's been running a tad sluggish on acceleration. It's been incredibly hot, so I didn't know it was related - I checked all fluids a couple of days ago & everything was fine.
I got a check engine light this morning when trying to leave the driveway - and my Kia seemed to hesitate - exactly when the light came on. Yes, I will take it in for diagnostics, but is there a couple of things in general that crap out first - like the most common things to go. I just don't want to get blind sided when I get the results back from the diagnostics. It's run perfectly for the past year. I think I have about 83,000 miles on the car now. Thanks!! Karen |

Re: 2000 Sportage Check Engine light
UPDATE!
Ok, I tanked up with fuel later in the day, accelerated really fast onto the highway and the check engine light went out. Maybe I need something cleaned out, maybe I just got crappy fuel on the last tank full?? |

Re: 2000 Sportage Check Engine light
if it comes back on go to autozone and get the code pulled and we may be able to tell you what it is. just because the light went out dont mean the problem is fixed.

Re: 2000 Sportage Check Engine light
I've heard Autozone does the testing for free, is this correct?
