Re: 96 Tracker EGR problems

I just replaced the catalytic converter but the engine is still loading up, boggs down at low speed ,then picks up as you build up speed. Air conditioner boggs it down as well. Mechanic says it's not EGR related this time. He's looking at it today and I guess I'm grasping at straws.
Thanks

Re: 96 Tracker EGR problems

take the EGR off and put a block off plate on there route the two vacuum hoses to each other. First thing I do to all my cars is delete the EGR system.

Re: 96 Tracker EGR problems

Changed out the TP Sensor, no help. Pin one voltage 5 volt seems to be ok.
Engine still boggs down. Taking it to a different machanic.

Re: 96 Tracker EGR problems

Well it looks like a timing belt problem. It's jumper a tooth and made it load up on the bottom end but run ok at the top.

Also check your vacuum lines. I just fixed my brother in laws tracker who had the exact same problem. Timing was 180* off when I fixed it it ran rough down low. The pcv valve was clogged we blew it out with a compressor and there was a vacuum line right next to the pcv valve (carbed motor) that was broken when replaced the motor ran like new.

Question Re: 96 Tracker EGR problems

i just replaced the complete motor in my 90 model tracker and still have a really bad miss in the idle. I'm wondering if there could be a problem in the vacuum system is there anywhere I could find a diagram of the vacuum system online?
