Which Car is best for me? Looking for ~15sec or better good on Gas commuter.

Hey guys I am looking for some opinions. I have been looking at a lot of used cars lately. I am looking for something fun to drive with some speed, about a 15 sec 1/4 mile, and good on gas, probibly a 4cyl. Looking for used, probibly mid 90s, around $2000-$5000 price range. I have been looking at Vtech Del Sols, Neon r/t, engine swampped 240sx' & 200sxs'.

Well I haven't made a purchase yet, could use some opinions. What do you guys recommend? I know not a ton of cars fit my Fast/Gas/Cheap specs, but I am looking for opinions.... THANKS!@

Hey black scorpion, yeah I like mr2s also. Never had a acura or integra, never big fan of the looks, but yeah definitally something to consider.

What do you guys think? Any of these cars much more reliable then another? Obviously in my price range I am looking at all non-turbo cars, but out of all thoes cars which ones are fastest stock? I saw 15.9 1/4 is stock on the 1998 R/T, are any of these others much faster stock? Also Like I said I was considering a del sol with a b18 engine swamp or a 240sx with a sr20det swap, what do you guys think of these? Whats the comparison on there 1/4 mile times with no other mods then the engine swamps?

Dont go w/ a DSM if you want reliability. I personally would go w/ the prelude or mr2.

look into an older maxima, they're in the $3500-$5000 range. the 92-94 SE has a VE30DE motor making 190 hp with 190 lbs of tq, it's similar to the motors found in the 300zx, and are known to run to over 200,000 miles. it'll get around 25-30 mpg it's and is faster than most of the other cars mentioned, except for maybe the prelude or a swapped 240. you may even be able to swing a 95+ which has the VQ motor, which is lighter and makes more tq. just my

Del Sol. Del Sol. Del Sol. Haha, if you are looking at sols, the VTEC (vtech makes phones) model with the B16 was offered from 94 to 97.

yea id avoid dsms and neons if looking for reliability. if you want reliability go for the mr2 or honda. mr2 turbos are reAlly nice, fast, good looking, and quite reliable. theyre a little hard to find though.
