1993 speed/rev limiter

Does a 1993 5.0 have a speed limiter or a rev limiter? If it has either, at what speed does it limit the car's performance or top speed?

When I had mine, I had it topped out at 119 mph. I don't remember the tach reading, though.

I've hit the limiter LONG after 120, and considering it all I would assume the 140 is correct

My buddyjust got one. It's got an auto tranny. He said it stops at 5000 rpm in 4th gear. He was doing 118. By the way, It's the 5.0 high output.

Depends on rear gears.
I'm guessing you 5.0 boys got 2.73's.
I got 3.08's gas cut-off at 104. The driveshafts are rather long so they have much lower limits than the mustang. The reason for this is so the driveshaft does not break and impale you.

5.0 Thunderbird speed limiter

I've got a '93 Thunderbird LX 5.0 that I bought new. It's got 2.70 gears. Doesn't do much off the line but it is a top ending fool. Was just playing around with it yesterday afternoon... let off at 110 indicated and it was still pulling hard at that speed. the '93 LX didn't get speed rated tires (unlike the '92 Sport which got Eagle GT+4s, mine got Michelin LX1 215/70s) so I always figured it should have been speed limited to 108 because of the non-speed-rated tires. It doesn't seem to be. I've seen an indicated 115 in the past with no sign of it wanting to quit. Never tried to find the ceiling, who needs the tickets or a spectacular wreck when somebody gets in front of me at that speed?
