Exclamation Some in-car videos from the Rose Valley Hillclimb (1st time event!)

Here are some videos from Rose Valley. This was my first time attacking this particular hill and it was quite an interesting experience. The hill is very technical and has a lot of challenging linked turns with changing elevation and camber.

I took 1st place in SM2 on my last run and set a new SM2 hill record while doing so. I was trailering by just over 1 second at the end of the day Saturday and by early Sunday morning I got with .1 of the leader. On the last run I passed him with a time of 62.007 compared to his last (and best) run of 62.4.

His name is Scott Barton and he is a fellow MR2 racer. He's an awesome driver and he really pushed me farther than I have been pushed before. I wasn't really expecting to be able to catch him, but I hung in there and it paid off.

This was Hyde's 10th hillclimb victory in a row and his 5th hillclimb record!

Unfortunately I do not have Hyde's SM2 record run of 62.007 on tape,
but I have an in-car of a 64.07 run from Satruday as I was learning the course:

Here's a Chase Cam video (front bumper) of the 62.8 run from Sunday morning. This was my second fastest run:

Here's my friend in the other black MR2, Scott Barton, fast run of 62.4:

That's a very nice hill.

Is it just me or does it seem like the other MR2 is taking the corners much faster and Hyde just pulls faster on the straights?

Re: Some in-car videos from the Rose Valley Hillclimb (1st time event!)

Yes Clawhammer, you are quite right comparing those videos and cars.
This is why I wish I had the 62.00 run on tape as I did things a lot differently on that run

There's also a huge difference between our turbos. He's running the ATS CT27 which spools up much faster than Hyde's GT35R. The perfect place to see that is the hairpin turn. Watch the in-car videos (not the Chase Cam) and see the difference in spool.

When we get back to tuning, we are going to be adjusting the cams in Hyde to pick up 500-1000 rpms of spool.

Awesome! Looks like so much fun...

There are so many different roads just like that here that can easily be used for such staged time attacks/hill climbs but it just doesn't happen. We have some SCCA events but no hill climbs and we're right at the foot of the mountains and I'm an hour and a half from the Tail of the Dragon...

That makes sense. So when is the new clutch going in? When is the retune? Do you think Hyde will make 600+ rwhp?
