Post Oil Pressure in '89 Suburban

Hi,

My oil pressure gauge reads from 0-60. What is the proper reading for the pressure?? I do not have a owner's manual.

The standard rule of thumb for any SBC (Gen 1) engine is that 1 PSI for every 100 RPM is adequate. Anything above that is not a problem. Anything below that could allow intimate metal contact and accelerated wear, catasrophic failure, or worse, having to listen to Al Gore whine about something ONE MORE TIME...
