A/C cool...not cold?!

I admit i'm not a car guy.I don't know a whole lot about engines.

I have a 2000 Intrigue 3.5L

My AC is givng me cool air, not cold air the way it used to. I was talking to my friend who knows alot about AC's and that a possible answer is that the coils have crude build up on them which is preventing the hot air getting out(i'm paraphrasing) Or he said i could have an AC leak. What do you guys think?

Could be one of several things.
Does it have a cabin air filter and if so have you checked it.
You need to get a low and high side gauge on it and with compresser runing and fan blowing good air threw rad check pressure at idle and at 2000 RPM and post back low and high side readings.
Also check air tempt out of vents.
