93 starting problem

I have a 93 toyota truck (obviously). It is the V-6 3.0. It runs fine but if I shut it off for any period of time I have to feather the gas pedal to restart it. I have replaced fuel filter, plugs, wires and air filter so far.

Any ideas?

thanks

Re: 93 starting problem

try getting a clean rag and cleaning out the throttle body, with some carb and choke cleaner. and replace the pcv valve while you are at it. how manny miles on it? May need to check the fuel pressure. Fuel pump might be on its way out.

Re: 93 starting problem

I thought that I was the only person on the planet that has this problem!!! My 1991 Toyota 3vz Will not start unless I feather the throttle until it fires and then reving the crap out of it in order to keep it running followed by it not wanting to idle. It almost seems like the engine is loading up with fuel and it is deffinately fuel burning rich on start up. After it all burns off, the truck runs totally perfect.

The truck will not pull any codes and I've taken it to two different mechanics to figure this out for me. After paying these guys to fugure out what might be going on, I've only found myself on more debt.

I've replaced; 6 injectors, Plugs, Wires, rotor, cap, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, cold start injector, Cleaned EFI and throttle body with carb cleaner, done two leakdown tests, and now want to just push it off a cliff!

If anyone could please give me an idea of what is going on it would be much appreciated.
