Arrow Fujimi Ferrari 288GTO/599GTB ???

Does anyone have a review of Fujimi's 1/24th Ferrari 288GTO? Is there a company coming out with a kit of the new 599GTB?

I have the 288GTO kit and it's a cracker, though you need skills to make the parts fit well, typical Fujimi on that one. Can you still get it as it's been out of production for ages?

599 GTB? Give it time, the car has only just come out. Someone will do it.

looks like Revell is doing the 599 too. wil be interesting to compare both kits. Revell is also going to reissue the 308 GTB. wonder what kit it will be.

599 is cool; will likely end up in Revell US lineup for a lot less $$ than a Fujimi.

The 308 GTB is likely the old curbside Monogram kit which is very simple, but is also the finest looking 308 GTB kit ever made. Only nits are the engine cover is a bit flat (and there's no engine) and the taillight locators aren't great but you can glue the lights in a better position. If they reissue the Magnum PI GTS it's detailed but pretty rough. But I found a bad one for $2 and used the Pirelli tires on my Monogram:

Both of those Ferrari kits are rated at the skill level of 9, so they must be fully detailed, just like their 612 kit. That means the 308 will be the reissue of the Revell kit, which is commonly available in Magnum PI package. The picture shows the GTB, so it could be a modified reissue of the GTS kit.

The 612 and Superamerica kits are skill level 3, but were listed as "9" before they debuted. Most likely the 599 will be a skill level 3, and most likely the 308 GTB will be the simple Monogram kit; retooling the body for the crappy Revell Magnum PI 308 GTS would be insane IMHO. I'd welcome a new-tool 308 GTB with full engine. Kind of a shame that the simple Monogram curbside is the only one that looks good and most people want to build an engine.

Interesting...I don't remember the Monogram 308. I did build back in the late '70s a Revell 308 with full engine detail, molded in black..I also built a Maserati Bora molded in blue, both were part of the same series, IIRC.

The Magnum PI GTS actually may have been a retooling of the earlier (circa 79) Revell 308 GTB (I remember the black kit, and the Bora, and also a Boxer). So maybe that's the one being reissued. Revell AG seems to have reissued the Monogram GTB in the late '80's, which itself came out in the late '70's, along w/a slew of curbside 1/24 scale European cars like the 924, 924 Turbo, 911, TR7, TR8, Ford/Mercury Capri, and a 280Z, and most models were offered later as racers in different boxes.

Your right on those issues, late 70's. Also included a Lancia Stratos. I still have a Stratos and the 365 Boxer awaiting building

From my recollection, of all of the models, only the 308 was badly misshapen, the others looked considerably better.
