Angry 2002 T&C Remote Programming...

I recently purchased a new remote for my T&C. I have programmed remotes on my other 1999 T&C with no problem. On this 2002 when I try to program it using the instructions, the new remote gets programmed but when I try the original old remote, it no longer works. So then, I still only have one remote that is programmed. When I do it again, using the new programmed remote, the old one gets programmed again and the new one's programming is wiped out and no longer works. Doesn't seem to want to let me have two remotes that are programmed. Hope I'm not confusing anyone. The dealer wants $27.00 to program it. Any thoughts out there?

Re: 2002 T&C Remote Programming...

From your explanation it appears Chryslers have a rolling code type program which requires all the remotes to be programmed at the same time. Give that a try.

Good luck.

Re: 2002 T&C Remote Programming...

Just came from the dealers. I have programmed the remotes on my 1999 T&C by myself with no problem. Evidently it is not possible to do that on the 2002 T&C according to the Service Manager at the local Chrysler dealer. Both my remotes had to be reprogrammed at the same time by the dealer.
COST: $27.00 and it only took about three minutes. Ripoff?
