Hidden Exhaust?

ive seen a few posts of "hidden exhausts", how would you do that so you don't ever see any tailpipe...just with turndowns?

Re: Hidden Exhaust?

yup they just cut off the tail pipes and put on some turndowns. Some ppl dont even put the turn downs on but i think it would be louder with turndowns since the sound will bounce off the pavement and echoe.

Re: Hidden Exhaust?

most ppl cut them off right after the muffler or just before the axel so that you dont see anything.

Re: Hidden Exhaust?

They make 7" turn down pipes that can be welded on. That's what mine were.

Re: Hidden Exhaust?

i have mine split before the y pipe to true duals and 2 thrush turbo mufflers.i have no turndowns.i put turndowns on thinking that it would be louder with the sound bouncing off the ground but it was almost silent.mine is much louder with the sound echoing off the bed

Re: Hidden Exhaust?

How were you able to go with True Dual exhausts? I was told the truck's PCM and exhaust setup was not disigned for that and would fail inspection.

You can. The reason I was told was that it'll trigger some dash lights to come on. So that may be why they wouldn't pass you.

Re: Hidden Exhaust?

i havent had any dash lights come on yet and its been done for about a year i think.and it runs better now than it did before.well no thats a lie haha its actually not running at all right now cuz i need a fuel pump.but it ran better lol.the hardest was cutting the pipes and leaving enough to attach to the new pipe.its also not perfectly round or straight where u have to cut it.it took about a day in my driveway, but it wasnt too bad.it should be noted tho that i havent gotten it inspected yet either haha

I think it may have something to do with the positioning of the O2 sensors
