2000 Radiator Fans - Both Bad?
What are the chances that both radiator fans would go bad at the same time? They didn't come on at high temp so I hooked up jumpers to the battery per the Haynes manual and neither worked. 3 days ago I noticed the car starting to get too hot and when I checked, one fan was not turning but started to turn very slow after I pushed it with a pen. The other was spinning a little faster but not even as fast as a slow ceiling fan. Now, neither are working. I'm wondering if a relay or control module could fry the fans somehow?

Quote:
Measure and compare their hi/lo winding resistances. Should spin if +12V available.

Re: 2000 Radiator Fans - Both Bad?
Just to follow up, both fans were bad. Put new fans in and they spin like they are supposed to. Removal and install was easy. Overheating problem is cured and can now use the a/c since it doesn't automatically shut off due to high temps.
