Question on auto clear coat??
Hi guys i got some Napa automotive clearcoat that you guys suggested when i asked what the hardest most scratch resistant clear was and i wanted to know what the drying time should be for this. I ask because i sprayed it more than 24 hours ago and it still seems pretty soft in the sense that if i try and scratch it with my nail it leaves a groove/mark. Mixed it 4 to 1 like it said on the can and it came out nice but seems to be rather soft just wondering if it needs to set up for like a week or something?
thanks again |

Re: Question on auto clear coat??
Was this the kind of clear that requires a hardener?

Re: Question on auto clear coat??
yea if its a 2 part clear system then you will need a hardener, see of the can says so. If its not a hardener then you should probably just wait a week or 2,if you layed a heavy coat( or wet coat) then i would not be suprised if it has not dried yet. Alot of people give there paint a few weeks to fully cure just to be safe.
