That's What Friends Are For...

Well really the opposite. This happened a while back but I just now witnessed the effects this weekend.

So a little after Memorial day weekend I get a call from my friend Al aka Turbo (non car-related nickname) down in Florida where I go to school, and he tells me about the most f*cked up weekend of his life. Friday night my friends went to the bar for the usual college town antics. At the bar, Turbo gets in a small fight with a bouncer and gets arrested for disturbing the peace and resisting arrest (which was not true from what he tells me). When he gets out of jail the next afternoon he goes back to the bar to get his car (he drove that night) but its not there. Assuming it got towed, he calls around and finds nothing. Finally he is led to contact the Tallahassee Police Dept which informs him that his car is being held because it was involved in a hit & run. Naturally he's like WTF!?!? But this is where things get interesting.

He goes back to his house and asks our friend Action (real name Jason) what happened after he went to jail. He says he doesn't really remember, but they got in a fight with some guys after he was arested and went home after that. This fight would explain the cuts on Action's face.

After two days of investigating, Turbo finds out that after he was arrested, Action tried to drive (drunk) his car back to the house for him and crashed into a tree right down the street from their house and just left it there since he A) was drunk B) has no license and C) is a fuckin idiot

So since then the police dropped whats left of the car (and its pretty smashed) in Turbo's front yard and I finally saw it when I went down to tallahassee this weekend. It was so much worse than I imagined, wish I had taken pics. But Action has since left town and moved back to Philly where he is nowhere to be found. He completely said "Fuck it" and left Turbo with no car, no means of getting to work, nobody to help with the rent (they were roommates), and no signs of remorse for wrecking what is supposed to be your friend's car and lying about it. And Turbo had no insurance at the time, so he fucked on that front too. He told me something about getting money somehow for it but I dont see how.

But I figured I'd tell you all that little story with the moral of choose your friends carefully. We thought Action was a good guy, at least to his friends. We've all fought, laughed, and passed out together for 4 years in college and he turns around and shits on Turbo like that

If anybody is in Philly and knows a Jason Alexander Bradford, I'd surely like to know about it. He has some serious stompings waiting for him.

that's pretty shitty man. i always try and follow the saying "a friend will bail you out of jail, but a TRUE friend will be there sitting next to you" sometimes it doesn't work out though.

Nice...very nice.

At least Turbo has a rock solid alibi for the hit and run charge.

I used to go by that saying. Especially since me and Action have been sitting in jail together before and Turbo came to bail us out! But thats all out the window now.

doesn't always work.
sometimes, a true friend will keep you out of jail in the first place.
sometimes, a true friend knows it is for your own good to leave you there by yourself.

a true friend will do what is best for you.

i feel you. shoot people ask me that question about the college i go to and there is only 25,000 students there. i figure though it doesn't hurt to ask, well it might hurt Jason. but it will doesn't hurt Turbo.

Sometimes he's Al, sometimes he's Turbo. More often Al. Turbo is more for drunken times.

Action is always Action. Really its Action Jackson. Action for short

Seeing it written makes it sound like I hang out with the American Gladiators or somethin, but at school, everybody has a nickname. I'm Tree, there's Ox, Turbo, Action Jackson, other Ox, Red, the list goes on

Your friends don't call you Drunken Monkey?

This kid in high school was affectionately referred to as "Speed Control Hump" by a girl I knew. I'll give you one guess why
