Brake pads

Does someone can show me how to change the brake pads of my 96 Camaro RS?

I did change the pads before for my other car. But when I removed the wheels of the Camaro and tried to loose the nuts of the Caliper, I only found two holes, where the nuts are supposed to be there.

Thanks.

Re: Brake pads

Thanks for the information. I did that. They said "remove the caliper and then...". But I did not figure out how to remove the caliper.

Re: Brake pads

I knew that. I changed the pads of a Mazda before.

Appreciate your patience and time.

Re: Brake pads

Ok,

So if you're loooking down at the caliper, towards each end do you see the slide bolts at each end?

I don't doubt your ability, I am jsut praying this car hasn't been driven around with no locating bolts

Re: Brake pads

They are probably torx or hex head bolts in there. My s10 had those and so did my tempo(had both torx and hex ) .

Re: Brake pads

Hi Kahjdh,

I think that may be the case. I will buy a set of torx and hex. Thanks a lot.

BTW, thank WrightZ28 for the help, even though I did not provide very detailed inofrmation.

I'm very grateful for all the help I got from those warm-hearted mechanic genius in Camaro Forum :-).

Re: Brake pads

I bought a set of SAE Allen wrench, and replaced the brake pads successfully.

Re: Brake pads

they wont be nuts, your probaly feeling an allan hole, or a torx, not sure on a camaro, its either a 3/8" allan, or a torx bit(not too sure on size)
