replacing brake light in spoiler

we have a 2002 chevy cavalier LS. How do we remove and replace the bulb? We tried removing the two screws that hold the cover, but it would not come off. Do we have to pull off the spoiler? Thanks in advance.

on the bottom side in the truck does it look like you can twist the harness like you would to change the tail lights.

i ran into the same problem when i was tinting my tails. tried to remove the 3rd brake light to tint it but couldnt get the damn thing off. taking out those screws really doesnt do anything. so yes this is a good question.

EDIT: i think there is another bolt holding the light in on the inside of the trunk. i just went and looked but i couldnt get my trunk open so i climbed in there. lol not to mention its 105 degrees outside!!

Hrm... bear in mind that that light cover is probably stuck in there pretty good even w/o screws. Find something you can stick inside that screw-hole and pull the lens off with. It should do the trick.
