electro fan
so my fan on the front of my engine is always on and its loud as hell and it pisses me off. I get horrible gas mileage and I was wondering if putting in an electric fan would help out any of those problems? I saw a how to on doing the relay so you can have an electric fan. Where can I get one of these fans I have heard about an altima fan going in a 240. What all is different about the electric fan, will it be on all the time or just when it needs tto be and if it is on all the time it wont increase its speed when the rpm increase.

Re: electro fan
The clutch fan affecting gas mileage? I don't think so.
You can get the fans just about anywhere, just look around. Yes you can use the altima fan. The difference with fans are how big they are, how many fans (single, dual), I believe you could wire it to turn on when engine temps increase (traffic), or you could wire it to turn on and off when you want (manual on/off switch). Anyone else want to chime in?

Re: electro fan
if your going to get an electric fan the fan i would recommend the most, on a budget and for performance is the stock dual altima fans, High cfm and hella cheap...(bout 50 bucks on ebay).
or if you wanna run a somewhat cool setup...which would cost slightly more, get a 14" single electric fan..preferrably a high cfm one (duh) and keep the stock fan shroud (believe it or not people but it is a VERY effiecent design...) but thats what i would do..

Re: electro fan
wish i woulda though about keeping my shroud before i ripped it to shredes taking it out.
but yea my shit was loud too until i put in an electri can. i bought the dual one from flexalite. it was pretty spndy but i think it was worth it. like he said u can have it set to turn on at a certain temp. the one i got can also be hooked up to the AC to get rid of that AC fan. ive also heard that u might get a HP or two out of it cause the fan clutch is running off the engine. kinda like removing power steering or the AC compressor.

Re: electro fan
so If I got an OEM altima fan how would It go in? Does it bolt on to anything or do I need to like make some mounting brakets of some sort?
