I was told that A 302 will not bolt up with a stock 93 jeep cherokee's trans...... I was told to go with a 84 318... Was told it would bolt up to my stock trans.. and that computers and all the wiring would interchange. all i would have to do is shorten my driveshaft and maybe change my motor mounts and some more odd and end stuff

any help would be helpful

Re: Need More Power

Ok first off what are you wanting to do by upping the HP? is it just for shear speed gain or what? if you have the HO i6 than you have 190HP the non i think has about 177HP How much$$ are you willing to put into it just to gain minimal HP at best not to mention the time and effort to do all of this... My advice would be to find an Grand Cherokee with the V8, Cherokee's were not built for there speed capabilities but for the off road with lots of low end torque makes the i6 perfect for this My dad always says look before you leap
so if you really want to do this i would go talk to a trusted mechanic even one at a jeep dealership probably would be your best bet

Re: Need More Power

i need more pulling power for the highway, it does good pulling a loaded trailer a round in town...just not to good on the highway...

i'v been talkin to two diff people about it... its just a thought right now... all tho i do have a high performance 302 and was just wondering if it would go in to my jeep...

And the 4.0 straight 6 is good for off road use.
