Im so EMO

I'm trapped in a glass cage of emotion! First off, I'm driving a 92 Cavalier RS for the time being instead of my 3000gt. Hoods rusted, has mismatching hubcaps, the door is rippled do to a hit and run, windows dont roll down, hitting reverse the first try is about as likely as winning the lottery, etc. So I drive it anyway. I see a buddy of mine who is still in high school sitting at a red light on the way out of town in an Avenger (ATX). Not sure if its the 4cyl or V6. I pull up to him and he laughs at my new ride bruising my ego even further. Light goes green and I drop the clutch and take off as he takes off figuring I'd be left in a large gap between him and I but no. I jump in front of him right off the line and he maybe gained about 3 ft back up to 55mph (were still sort of in town...40mph speed limit). I was shocked as was he. We talked a bit at a gas station and parted ways. Then today, I pull up at a red light with a SE Grand Am next to me. I could tell it was a real young kid and that he's probably want to do a short run too. What the hell...why not? Light goes green and his front bumper was at my rear bumper! So Cavy FTW! Right?........ My lane is ending so I slow up and he gives a ricer flyby along with the flashers!!!! Beh, whatever. Aren't 2.2L Cavaliers like 17 second cars? So now I've become emo with this beat down cavalier and two races won and a ricer flyby with flashers.

Re: Im so EMO

That quote from Rocker is a few months old. It started when Morphius in the 3/s section had an owl saying something in a pic and I asked him where he found it. Then Rocker said "thats not an owl, thats musashis sister" .

It is kind of fun driving this little econo box around. Surprisingly it gets of the line pretty quick off the line being so light and that it is a manual.

a stock 2.2 can run like a flat 16 stock...wait, u say 92..hm....well, the 93 z24 cavy runs a high 16. so idk what to tell you. those cars have nice tq right off the line in 1st and 2nd, but when u hit 3rd, its like moving in a stand still.

The 93 Z24 had a 3.1L V6 that made 135 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. The 92 2.2L I4 only made 110 hp and 120 lb-ft. So saying it’s a 17 seconds car is probably about right.

Re: Im so EMO

Sounds like you raced an auto with the 2.5L V6. They aren't quick at all and if he thinks otherwise he is only fooling himself. His car is the same as my old Sebring and trust me, it was slow, and I knew it.

whats funny is that the v6 avenger is the higher end version. but the 4 cyl avenger paired with a 5 speed is actually faster than the v6. and thats a fact.

My friend has a stock 4 cylinder Avenger (420a) with a 5 speed and it seems to take off okay. Maybe because the cloth seats, cheap plastic interior and no sunroof gave the illusion that it a little lighter than say the v6 version with the power everything and leather.

Yeah, plus there is a small aftermarket for them as well. There isn't crap for the V6.

Actually you can't. GM never made a turbo Sunfire, they did make a turbo Sunbird.
