Interchanging 325i parts with 318i ?

I have a 1992 325ic with an engine that was ran out of oil due to a oil pan leak, and a 1995 318i with a good engine but the transmission has problems. Once the car gets to 4th it will not come back out of 4th gear.

My question is if I can use either the 318i engine in the 325i or the 325i tranny in the 318i ?

Help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!!

Your answer isnt what you want to hear , but it's no! they wont line up. But if you sell your 318I you can get a nice m3 motor with ecu for about $4,500. That's what I would do.
