I wrecked last night!

Took a sharp right bend and my tire blew. Spun all over the place before going for a really bumpy ride.

I'm somehow fine, but my car's messed. My insurance company wants me to get an estimate, and go from there. There's some minor body damage, and the front bumber is bent up, and the windshield is cracked. It sounds like something is rubbing in the right rear tire area, so I think at least the rear suspension is bent. They say it may be totalled, but will depend on how much the damage is. Does anyone know what the limit is for it to be totalled?

I think if the damage exceeds the blue-book value, it's considdered totalled...

Did you hit something or just spin out?

Sorry to hear about it.

Damn dude, sorry 2 hear about that....

Yeah, check Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) for the value of ur car and if ur estimates go over that then ur screwed. I'm not sure which value they look at but i'm sure u could ask ur agent.

that sucks!!

From what you have told me so far, here are my estimates

New windshield about $100 at a junkyard

Rear suspension, ask about it when you are at the same junkyard

As far as the body work goes, I dunno how messed up it is so I couldnt tell you

they total it if the damage is 50% or more than the bluebook value of the car. when i wrecked in dec there was $2500 damage and that was enough to call it totalled.

I hit a small embankment, and a tree.

I don't know why they are so mucj cheaper, but I'm only paying 936 or something a year, and they gave me full coverage and it covers custom parts and all kinds of goodies, and they even offered me a rental car. My deduct is 100 comp, 250 collision. Most other places quoted me like 1200 a year for just liability.

I guess different company's go by different amounts for totalling.

They don't want junkyard prices, they want an estimate. The thing that I'm really worried about is that it's not the suspension, and that it's something more serious. I know the frameworkings on these cars is not that tough. The value of the car was more where I bought it (in CO, I live in PA), and I paid more than it is worth here because it was a gem. If they totall this, will insurance give me the kbb value, or what I paid for it?

damn man, sucks to hear that. But, while we're on the subject. Snatch the front lip off that beast and I'll give you some money for it. If it's in good condition. The lip and the mounting hardware.

If the car is totalled, I'll be sure to try to get ahold of it, and I'll part it out. It's really in great shape all around...only about 80k, and was pretty much spotless everywhere, inside and out. They'll be tons of good parts available, but sorry bro, front lip got muffed up pretty bad.

kbb value. i really hate to say it...but you might want to prepare yourself for the worst. insurance adjusters always go by shop rate and retail price for labor/parts. they said my car needed 5 hrs of frame rack at $200/hr... that was $1000 alone. go here for
damage pics on my car. ins co. said $2500+ in damage. i fixed it for:

$100 - 2 fenders
$250 - 5 hrs frame rack $50/hr (friend's shop)
$600 - WW kit
$300 - paint materials (still need to paint the car )

i could have fixed it cheaper if i skipped the kit and just got a bumper.

the total limit

A total is when it costs more to repair the car than the car is worth.

You sound like a little kid.
Perhaps it's better if youre off the road for a while since its very clear youre a horrible driver.

You are a menace to other drivers.
Buy a bicycle.
