AT Slow to Respond

I am back. Grandson's 2001 Elantra GLS with ATX and after she sits for a while (2-3 hours or longer) and is started, she will not accelerate in any gear for at least 30 seconds. I have changed transmission fluid and filter in the last 3,000 miles (MAX LIIFE transmission fluid). so unless the Hyundai fluid is exotic, where do I look next? I really like this forum, you have saved our bacon at least twice and I am hoping y"all can do it again.

Was it having this problem before you changed the fluid? If not, the Maxlife is your problem. Hyundai's take SPIII fluid. It's only available at the dealer. List on it is $5.45/quart. Get it quick, Aug 1st, list is going up to $5.92/qt. Do not go to a parts store and get stuff that says it will work on all makes and models, including Hyundai's, because it won't. We've put in several transmission from people putting wrong fluid in their car. Jiffy Lube and other quick change places have paid for a few because they put in this "universal" fluid.
